Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the Neebing/McIntyre floodway, near the 700 block of William Street, at about 6 p.m. Sunday July 14 following reports of a male in the waterway.
Firefighters from the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and paramedics with Superior North EMS were also dispatched.
First responders recovered the male, who was transported by paramedics to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Thunder Bay Police Service is now assisting the coroner as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the male’s death.
