Salary Range:

$61,988.25 to $108,531.75 annually 

Annual Leave:

2 blocks of annual leave following one year of continuous employment

Experienced officers who have graduated from the Ontario Police College, or another recognized Canadian police training facility and are current serving police office with another Canadian police service can submit their application to recruitment@thunderbaypolice.ca.  An application should include the following documents:

  • Cover Letter
  • Resume outlining experience
  • Copy of your Basic Constable Training diploma from the Ontario Police College or equivalent diploma
  • Proof of valid First Aid and Level C (Basic Rescuer Level) CPR certificate (Must be from a recognized First Aid and CPR certificate provider)

Note: Applicants from outside Ontario must complete the Basic Constable Training Equivalency exam with the Ontario Police College before employment with the TBPS.  You will be asked to provide a letter of good standing from your current police service.

Recruitment Process:

Phase 1 - Local Focus and Essential Competency based Interview

Phase 2 – Psychological and Fitness Testing (PIN Test with a minimum score of Level 7 in the Leger 20m Shuttle Run).

Phase 3 – Background Investigation

Phase 4 – Review of candidate file, recommendation for hire and offer of employment conditional on successful competition of a pre-employment medical.
