Police located and arrested a wanted Thunder Bay man who was in possession of a large concealed knife while on foot in the city’s northside Wednesday evening.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit observed a male wanted on active warrants in the 200 block of Pearl Street just after 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28.
Officers approached and identified themselves as police to the male. The suspect responded by fleeing on foot.
Police were able to complete their arrest after a brief struggle with the accused.
Police located and seized a large knife from the suspect following the arrest.
The accused was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
David Allan MARTELL, 38, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Carrying Concealed Weapon
• Resist Peace Officer
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
He appeared in court in Thunder Bay on Thursday, June 29 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
