Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to reports of an unresponsive woman on a bike path in the County Fair area just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, March 19.
A passerby called 911 after seeing the body on a path near the Landmark Inn.
As a result of the continued investigation this case is now being treated as a homicide.
A post-mortem is being scheduled to take place in Toronto.
The scene is still being held and police continue to ask the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
