Jonathan Edward MASSICOTTE, 23, of Thunder Bay appeared in court Monday. He has been charged with First-Degree Murder and Uttering Threats to Kill in connection with the 2014 homicide investigation of William Darryl Wapoose.
MASSICOTTE was remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Wednesday, May 29.
A second accused, a 22-year-old Thunder Bay man, has also been charged with First-Degree Murder in connection to this investigation. His identity is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act as he was a minor at the time of the incident.

Arrests made in Chapples Homicide
On Friday May 24th, 2019 the Thunder Bay Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch arrested two males for the murder of William Wapoose.
William Darryl Wapoose, 32 years of Thunder Bay was located at approximately 7:30 a.m. on September 3rd, 2014 by a citizen walking on the bike path at the south end of Chapples Drive. At the time it was apparent that foul play was involved and over the ensuing years numerous people were interviewed and attempts to obtain information on those responsible for William's death were made.
The continuous hard work and diligence of investigators lead to recent developments in this incident and the subsequent arrests that occurred today.
Two adult males, one of whom was a youth at the time of the offence, have been arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder. One of the accused males is also charged with Uttering Threats to Kill in relation to this incident.
The investigation is continuing.
