A pair of southern Ontario men was arrested and charged with drug-trafficking related offences following the search of a Trillium Court home Thursday.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit and the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau executed a search warrant at a residential address in the zero-to-100 block of Trillium Court just before 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 8.
The warrant was obtained amid an ongoing investigation into drug-trafficking activity.
Two male suspects were located inside the home and were arrested without further incident.
A search of the home resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected cocaine, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a significant quantity of cash, paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, and a Taser.
The estimated potential street value of drugs seized totals more than $97,000. The total amount of cash seized is pending, but is expected to exceed $150,000 CAD.
The two accused were transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
Gregory Barrington PARKER, 38, of Ajax, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
• Possession of Firearm/ Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Anthony Jahmal SLATER, 35, of Toronto, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
Both appeared in bail court on Friday, April 9 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
