Police on Thursday arrested a Barrie, Ont., man and woman, and seized a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine amid an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit, K9 Unit, and members of the OPP’s Organized Crime Bureau observed a vehicle and a male suspect connected to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation at a gas bar in the 200 block of Arthur Street West just after 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 25.
Police conducted a traffic stop, at which point the suspect attempted to re-enter his vehicle to flee. Police completed their arrest and took the suspect into custody after a brief struggle.
As a result of the arrest and a subsequent executed search warrant, police located and seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
After arresting the male suspect, police executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 600 block of Vale Crescent. The warrant was linked to the same ongoing drug-trafficking investigation.
When police entered the Vale Crescent home they located and arrested a female suspect.
Following a search of the home police located and seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of suspected heroin, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The potential street value of drugs seized totalled nearly $15,000 CAD.
Troy Clemens FOLTZ, 26, of Barrie, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Resist Peace Officer
• Breach of Probation
Victoria Antoinette ST. JEAN, of Barrie, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Heroin for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Breach of Probation
Both appeared in bail court on Friday, March 26 and were remanded into custody with a future appearance date of March 30.
