Police arrested two people after the driver of a stolen vehicle collided with the Chippewa Park carousel Saturday morning.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the 2400-block area of Chippewa Road just after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29 following reports of a single motor vehicle collision.
The motor vehicle had collided with the carousel at Chippewa Park.
Police learned a male and female in the vehicle at the time of the collision had let the scene on foot.
As a result of an ongoing investigation, police learned the vehicle involved in the collision had been allegedly stolen earlier that morning.
At about 1:25 p.m., a male suspect connected to this incident arrived at the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters to turn himself in. The female suspect was arrested and charged in the evening hours of Saturday, July 29.
Brandon Tyler Douglas MEREDITH, 26, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Mischief over $5,000
• Theft of Motor Vehicle
Kera OSHKOPEKEDA, 24, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Mischief over $5,000
• Theft of Motor Vehicle
Both have been released from custody with conditions and future appearance dates.
