Police arrested a Toronto man, and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, following the search of a southside home Wednesday afternoon.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Emergency Task Unit executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 600 block of McKellar Street North at about 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12. The search warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation by members of the TBPS’s Intelligence Unit into drug trafficking activity at that address.
A male suspect was located and arrested during the search.
He was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
A search of the home led to the seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Tenzin GYURME, 30, of Toronto, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Breach of Recognizance
He appeared in bail court in Thunder Bay on Thursday, July 13 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
