Seven people have been arrested after police executed two warrants related to ongoing drug trafficking activity in Thunder Bay.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit and Emergency Task Unit searched a residence in the 100 block of Machar Avenue, and another residence in the 200 block of Finlayson Street on the evening of Wednesday, March 20.
Police seized quantities of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, with the drugs having an estimated street value of more than $135,000. Police also seized currency totalling nearly $100,000.
Of the seven people arrested, six did not have a local Thunder Bay address.
Joseph BOACHIE, 28, of Brantford; Stephon EDWARDS, 29, of Toronto; and Lynston HENRY-OSBORNE, 30, of Scarborough are each charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000. BOACHIE faces an additional charge of Possession of Fraudulent Identity.
Jordan FORTUNE-FLETCHER, 33, Lancaster, Ont; Alex HAZELL, 27, of Toronto; Bento SEBASTIAO, 34, of Toronto; and Dina SHAFRANSKI, 54, of Thunder Bay, are each charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
The accused appeared in court on Thursday, March 21 and have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
The investigation remains ongoing.
