A South Porcupine man could be on the hook for more than a speeding ticket after officers found he was about 40 fish beyond his limit Saturday.
A Thunder Bay Police Service Traffic Unit officer was conducting traffic enforcement along Dawson Road on Saturday, July 15, when they observed a pickup truck travelling faster than the posted maximum speed limit of 50 km/ h.
The officer approached the male driver and learned he was returning to his Timmins home from a fishing getaway in Sioux Lookout.
An investigation revealed the male was in possession of about 40 walleye above the legal limit.
The Thunder Bay Police Service and Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are continuing the investigation. Charges are pending.
