Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an early morning shooting incident that sent one male to the hospital. Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre just after 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 following reports of a male who had sustained a suspected gunshot wound. The preliminary investigation revealed the male had sustained injuries following a shooting incident that occurred at a bar at 802 Memorial Avenue at about 2:15 a.m. that same morning. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the continued investigation. A police presence and scene remains in the area of the shooting incident.
