Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Empire Avenue East just after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 following reports of a male who may have been in possession of a firearm inside a residence.
Once officers arrived they contained the residence.
An investigation revealed that a witness saw a male with a knife and what appeared to be a handgun.
The accused male exited the residence just after 6:35 p.m. and was in possession of several knives. There was no gun in his possession. A pellet gun was later located inside the residence.
The accused turned over five knives and the pellet gun to police.
The 34-year-old accused man was cautioned and released unconditionally.
