Police located and arrested two females who escaped lawful custody from a youth detention centre Sunday afternoon.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the Creighton Youth Services facility just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 28 following reports of two females escaping from lawfully custody.
Officers located both suspects in the area of Golf Links Road and William Street at about 5:45 p.m. Both were taken into custody and transported to TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street without further incident.
One accused was in custody on charges of Public Mischief, the other accused was in custody on charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle x 2, and Aggravated Assault.
The 18-year-old female and 17-year-old female both faces charges of:
• Escape Lawful Custody
• Fail to Comply with Sentence
Their identities are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both are expected to appear in bail court today (Monday, May 29).
