Police continue to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that sent one person to hospital.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the area of Simpson Street and Pruden Street just before midnight on Thursday, January 25. Superior North EMS paramedics and firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue also responded.
Emergency services located a male pedestrian with injuries. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be life threatening.
The vehicle had fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers. The vehicle is a newer model silver or grey pickup truck with a stainless steel "V plow" style snow plow. Surveillance footage of the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident is being released publicly.
Police are asking the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
The Thunder Bay Police Service's Traffic Unit, Major Crimes Unit, and Forensic Identification Unit are involved in the ongoing investigation.
