Quick reactions by police and emergency services led to two people being revived after suffering suspected overdoses.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response branch were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Tupper Street just after 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 8 for two people who were without vital signs.
Responding officers administered Naloxone to one of the individuals. A bystander administered Naloxone to the second.
Superior North EMS paramedics and firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue also responded.
Both individuals regained a pulse and were transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre by paramedics.
Police continue to advise of the dangers of narcotics use. Narcotics purchased on the street in our community often contain unknown substances and dosage. Anyone treated for an overdose should still seek medical attention even if they appear to have fully recovered.
