Police arrested six people, including multiple suspects from Quebec and the Greater Toronto Area, and seized more than $460,000 worth of drugs following the search of a Leith Street home Wednesday.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Task Unit, executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 200 block of Leith Street at about 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity at that address.
When officers entered the home they located and arrested six suspects. They were transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
Police located and seized a significant quantity of suspected crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Police also located and seized a loaded handgun and ammunition.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals more than $460,000. Cash seized is believed to exceed $50,000 CAD.
