A Thunder Bay man faces multiple charges of mischief after reports of vehicles having their windows smashed on the city’s southside Thursday evening.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the Hampton Inn located in the 700 block of Arther Street West just before 10:50 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 following reports of a male smashing car windows.
Officers learned a male suspect had used a crowbar to smash vehicle windows in a parking lot. The suspect reportedly wore safety glasses and thick work gloves at the time of the incident, and the owners of the vehicles are believed to have been unknown to him.
When officers arrived, they located a male suspect in the area of Donald and James Streets. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Through their investigation, police identified eight damaged vehicles believed to be connected with this incident.
Jacob William MAYO, 24, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Mischief – Destroy or Damage Property x 8
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He appeared in bail court on Friday, Sept. 8 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
