A 32-year-old has been arrested on multiple firearms charges after airport security found a loaded handgun.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the Thunder Bay Airport at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 for a weapons call.
Airport security had discovered a passenger was in possession of a suspected firearm during pre-boarding screening.
Responding officers located and arrested the suspect.
The firearm was seized and confirmed to be loaded.
Calvin Edward GODIN, 32, of Geraldton, is charged with the following:
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Carry Concealed Weapon
• Failure to Comply with Probation
• Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order x2
GODIN appeared in court on Thursday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
