Incident Date
This morning (Monday, July 17) we hosted a small ceremony at the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters to raise the Fort William First Nation flag.
This is one very small step toward acknowledging the land we work and live on is built upon the traditional territory of the Anishinabek, which includes the Ojibwa of Fort William First Nation, signatory to the Robinson-Superior Treaty of 1850.
We acknowledge reconciliation is a journey without a destination, and we are committed to continuing this journey so we can provide a better police service for everyone.
We would like to thank everyone who made this ceremony possible and look forward to many more similar events in the future.
