Five people, including three from Southern Ontario, have been arrested and face charges after a search warrant was executed at a home on the city's south side.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit executed a warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Norah Street North at about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking at that address.
Quantities of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other drugs were located along with Canadian currency, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Jonathan ASAMOAH, 18, of Brantford; Shemar JONES, 23, of Hamilton; a 17-year-old youth from Niagara; Graham OWENS, 65, of Thunder Bay; and Wendy YOUMANS, 54, of Thunder Bay, are charged with the following:
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.
YOUMANS also faces a charge of Breach of an Undertaking.
The identity of the youth cannot be disclosed in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The accused have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
