The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious motor vehicle collision that led to the death of a 34-year-old Thunder Bay woman.
First responders were originally dispatched to Lyon Boulevard at Rita Street just after 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23 following reports that a motor vehicle had struck a tree.
A female passenger has died from injuries sustained in the collision. The 35-year-old male driver has been taken into custody. Charges are pending.
Police continue to investigate.
This investigation has led to road closures in the area of Lyon and Rita. The public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
