Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a reported robbery in progress at the Circle K convenience store in the 300 block of Oliver Road just before 11 p.m. on Monday, May 27.
Investigators learned two suspects entered the store, rushed the counter, aggressively approached the clerk and demanded money.
At this time an off-duty NAPS officer called 911 to report the robbery in progress. The off-duty officer then approached the counter, identified himself as a police officer and arrested one of the two suspects.
The other suspect fled.
Arriving TBPS officers took the suspect into custody. The suspect became combative and attempted to assault the officers.
Just after 11 p.m., another Thunder Bay Police Service officer arrived in the area, located and arrested the second suspect.
Michael Albert George DAMPIER, 25, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Robbery.
Anthony Duke Brandon KING, 25, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Robbery and Probation Order Non-Compliance.
Both appeared in court Tuesday and were remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
