Police arrested two suspects, and seized suspected Fentanyl and Crystal Methamphetamine, after stopping a vehicle with an expired licence plate Sunday.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Primary Response Branch were on routine patrol in the area of Pacific Avenue and Simpson Street at about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3 when they observed a grey sedan being driven with expired licence plates.
A traffic stop was conducted along the 100-block area of Pruden Street.
After speaking with the motorist, police learned the suspects – a driver and passenger – were possibly in possession of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.
Police located and seized a quantity of suspected Fentanyl, a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Two suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
Sarah Linnea ALATYPPO, 40, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Yannick GOULETTE, 44, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Both appeared in bail court in Thunder Bay on Monday, Aug. 4 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
