Police arrested a Thunder Bay man Wednesday on charges of possessing and making available child pornography.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation in February into the possible possession and making available of child pornography by a local Internet user.
Investigators reviewed numerous files and confirmed they were consistent with child pornography.
Further investigation led to a local address being identified. As a result, a search warrant was executed at a home in the Edward Street and Churchill Drive area in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, May 16.
Police seized electronic devices following that search, and other related searches.
A male suspect was arrested and taken into custody in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 31.
Scott LETOURNEAU, 34, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Child Pornography
• Accessing Child Pornography
• Make Available Child Pornography
He appeared in bail court in Thunder Bay on Wednesday, May 31 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
