Collision with Dawson Road building results in impaired driving charges

A 32-year-old woman faces impaired driving charges after a vehicle collided with the building of a north side business. 

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol branch were dispatched to an address on the 1000 block of Dawson Road just after 11 p.m. on Friday, February 2 for a motor vehicle collision into the exterior wall of the building. 

Responding officers observed signs of impairment. 

The driver was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for assessment and treatment, and was later brought to the Thunder Bay Police Service station. 

Further testing determined the driver was impaired by alcohol. 

A 32-year-old Thunder Bay woman is charged with Impaired Operation of a Vehicle and Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus). 

This incident was one of four from Friday, February 2 through the morning of Monday, February 5 that the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to and resulted in impaired driving charges.
