Body Worn Camera Pilot Program review released

The Thunder Bay Police Service has completed and distributed its comprehensive viability review, which comes following the conclusion of a six-month pilot program.
The report was made public and presented to the Thunder Bay Police Service Board during a Tuesday morning meeting held at the Mary J.L. Black Library.
The Body Worn Camera pilot program began in September and included several phases. In November selected officers began wearing the cameras, while in car cameras were installed in December.
In total six traffic unit officers, three uniform patrol unit officers, and five court services staff took part in the pilot program.
