The TBPS Traffic Unit continues to investigate yesterday’s multi vehicle collision that occurred on Arthur Street West at Mapleward Road.
The incident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. Emergency responders were on scene shortly after the collision. Despite the intense efforts by members of the public on scene, first responders and emergency department staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, a 69-year-old female was pronounced as deceased. The Atikokan woman was one of the motorists involved in the collision. One other driver was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The name of the deceased is being withheld in respect for the family. The investigation continues.
