On Friday May 24th, 2019 the Thunder Bay Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch arrested two males for the murder of William Wapoose.
William Darryl Wapoose, 32 years of Thunder Bay was located at approximately 7:30 a.m. on September 3rd, 2014 by a citizen walking on the bike path at the south end of Chapples Drive. At the time it was apparent that foul play was involved and over the ensuing years numerous people were interviewed and attempts to obtain information on those responsible for William's death were made.
The continuous hard work and diligence of investigators lead to recent developments in this incident and the subsequent arrests that occurred today.
Two adult males, one of whom was a youth at the time of the offence, have been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. One of the accused males is also charged with Uttering Threats to Kill in relation to this incident.
The two accused are expected to appear in court on Saturday morning.
The investigation is continuing and more information will be forthcoming.
