Police have arrested a Thunder Bay man following an investigation into a serious assault on the city’s southside Wednesday.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to a residential address in the 200 block of Robertson Street just after 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, following reports of an injured male.
Firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and paramedics with Superior North EMS were also dispatched.
When police arrived they located an adult male, who was in the care of responding paramedics, and appeared to have been the victim of a recent serious assault. The victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for further evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
The exact extent of his injuries is unknown but believed to be life threatening.
Through the course of their investigation, police identified a male suspect. The suspect was located, arrested, and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
Members of the TBPS’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units have become involved in the continued investigation.

He appeared in bail court in Thunder Bay in the late afternoon hours of Wednesday, Sept. 20 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
