Detectives with the TBPS Criminal Investigation Branch continued to investigate the incident that occurred last weekend that resulted in 70-year-old Michael Danial Bewcyk being charged for breaching a prohibition order.
Bewcyck has been in custody since his arrest and additional charges have been laid in conjunction with this investigation.
The new charges are:
· Abduction of a Person Under 14 Years - Section 281 CC
· Breach of Prohibition Order - Section 161 (4) CC
He appeared in court this afternoon and remains in custody.

On August 26, 2018 at approximately 4:30 p.m. a patrol officer noticed a male on an e-bike speaking to two young girls in the May Street and Isabel Street area.
The officer observed the male driving with one of the girls on the bike and she was not wearing a helmet. The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver and the 9 year old female passenger.
A check of the male on the police records system confirm that the male is prohibited from communicating or being around persons under the age of 16 years old.
The male was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.
Michael Danial Bewcyk, 70 years old of Thunder Bay has been charged with Breach of Prohibition Order - Communicate under 16 years. He appeared in court yesterday and was remanded into custody
